Laura & Toby ~ Semple Mansion, Mpls MN

2/23/15

What goes well with a November wedding at the Semple Mansion?  A fun loving couple that is very laid back and in love!  This New York couple was a favorite of mine in 2012 as their concept and details were all very vintage, natural and full of greenery.  Their color concept of navy and greens were just on the cusp of a huge trend using this palette in 2013.  To compliment their style we used cream garden roses, ranunculus, anemones, blue thistle, green trick dianthus, standard roses, hydrangea, viburnum berries and seeded eucalyptus accented with mercury glass, candles and wooden table numbers.  I had so much fun getting to know both of them and Laura's mom Bev who was very involved in the planning process being they were out of state!  Enjoy Laura & Toby's November Wedding!

Introducing Real Wedding Mondays!

2/16/15

How do we energize that "Oh it's Monday again" feeling?  With beautiful weddings of course!  In an effort to maintain my new years resolution of reviving my lost blog over the past few years I will be revisiting a wedding of mine every Monday!  What does that mean for you...............Beautiful images of gorgeous and fun weddings I had the pleasure of working on over the past few years!!  Brace yourself for wedding mania....
Without further ado, I give you:

Sarah & Isaiah

It was all to easy to start with these two to feature first as they are simply two of the sweetest people who's love is absolutely contagious!  I was not only fortunate enough to have been hired by them for day of coordination and floral but now to have continued a friendship a few years later.  Their shabby chic wedding was so much fun to work with as Sarah knew the look and feel she wanted right from the start! The personal details, handmade table garland, lovely rented furniture, amazing dessert bar and of course the love and energy!! This is one of those weddings as you get to know a couple their details speak EXACTLY to who they are!  Enjoy reliving their gorgeous fun wedding and congrats to these two as they are about to welcome their 2nd child this summer!

2015 Wedding Flower Trends

2/10/15

Floret Flowers
What will be gracing the magazines as "real weddings" from 2015 at this time next year?  There already seem to be some emerging trends I am hearing from my brides this year and seeing in magazines and online!

 1. BLUSH & GOLD
Gold is EVERYWHERE and what a beautiful compliment to that than a perfect pastel blush!  I am assuring you a lot of blush/pale pink roses will be used in numerous weddings this year as well as the charming mercury glass!

2. FLORAL HEADBANDS
You won't just be seeing the adorable little flower girls wearing one of these this year.  More and more brides are adding floral crowns to their wedding day attire for 2015 over the traditional hair piece or rhinestone crown.

3. DRAMATICS
Kimye started it all with that dramatic flower wall!  While that isn't always realistic for most weddings that doesn't mean they didn't help inspire brides to have dramatic pieces, backdrops, tablescapes and suspended decor, which are all the rage right now on how to wow the guests!

4. GARDEN INSPIRATION
Garden inspired flowers will take center stage this year as more bouquets and decor designs will have that freshly gathered garden look.  Branches vines and foliage will also be another element to help achieve the look of "bringing the outside in"

5. SIMPLY BEAUTIFUL
Simple, clean, elegant are all common words I am hearing my brides use to describe their weddings while we work on the flowers for their big day!  The simplest designs can sometimes be the most elegant, especially when one flower type or color is used throughout your wedding.  Think all rose bouquets pomander balls, hydrangea centerpieces or just a few blooms in unique style vases!
